Mission Merchants Welcomes You

A message From Supervisor David Campos

There are so many unanswered questions regarding the two recent fires in the Mission. While I am in the process of putting together legislation that will look at various fire prevention strategies moving forward, we as a community need to understand what is happening now. Therefore I will be holding a hearing to address the recent fires in the Mission next Thursday  (March 19) at the Neighborhood Services and Safety Committee (room 250 at City Hall) at 2:00pm to have the Fire Department and the Department of Building Inspections report on trends and data regarding causes and frequencies of fires in the Mission, with specific information about this year's fires. I want to understand whether we are in fact experiencing more fires than other neighborhoods, and what are causing these fires.

During this same committee meeting, I will also be holding a hearing with the PUC on persistent flooding in the mission during large storms. The PUC will be reporting on their short and long term plans to address this flooding in the 17th and Folsom area.

If you are available to attend these hearings and share your concerns and questions, please come and be heard.
